About Me

My
Story
Hi, I'm Drew! I am a Certified Veterinary Technician, and have been working in veterinary medicine since 2007. My experience working in emergency & critical care, and briefly oncology and general practice/wellness, ignited my curiosity in the behavior, emotional, and psychological health of our pets.
My very first job in veterinary medicine was as a nursing assistant at a large 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, and from there knew I had found my place in veterinary care, and in my career. I worked 12 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays while attending Harcum College to obtain my Veterinary Technician degree (now known as the Veterinary Nursing degree) at Harcum College. Throughout my career, I have not worked with pets who are healthy or coming in for routine and wellness check ups -- I have worked with sick, scared, hurt and hurting pets, and their worried human counterparts. My heart broke watching pets and their caregivers struggle with their vet visits, and every day I did my best to make sure I did all that I could to make their visits as low-stress as I could. I decided to enroll in the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training and Behavior, and became a certified dog trainer in 2021, with the help of my assistant and loyal companion, Chicken (who is in fact, a dog).
It quickly became clear to me that my passion is for helping pets and their people overcome vet visit stress and fear. I have been working very hard toward my dream of becoming a full-time dog trainer and pet care provider. It may seem simple, but watching dogs learn, watching them play, walking with them, and snuggling with them, all brings me so much joy, that I just want to spend the rest of my life doing just that.
At home, I have two little Jack Russell mutts (Chicken and Kiwi) who are constantly keeping me on my toes, a Catahoula/mutt pup (Frito), two cats (Olive and Noodles), and a husband who all make sure I never give up on my dreams :)
